The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) realises the investment promotion potential value of promoting the Eastern Cape as a destination for hosting national & international film & television productions. The breath-taking film & television locations that the province possesses makes it to be preferred film &television destination of choice. The funding is only available to productions will be shooting their projects in the Eastern Cape. Following are the funding categories:
 

Microfilm funding:

• Short Films   

• Documentaries

• Short TV formats
   

Production Funding:

• Feature Film           

• Drama/TV Series    

• Reality Shows         

• Telenovela’s            

• Documentaries      

• Animations    
     

The applicant is required to download and read the Eastern Cape Film Investment Fund (ECFIF) Guidelines before completing the application form.
 

APPLICATION PROCESS

ECDC will open a funding call that will be advertised in all ECDC social media platforms as follows: Website: www.ecdc.co.za, facebook(Eastern Cape Development Corporation, Instagram(ecdc_developec) etc. Only successful applicants will receive formal communication from ECDC through approval letters. Failing to hear from ECDC within six(6) weeks after the closing date of the funding call consider your application unsuccessful.
 

 It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit correct and complete application form with all the required supporting documentation, failing to do so will result to automatic disqualification. Applicants are allowed to apply in one category per funding call, if you apply in both categories will result to automatic disqualification.
 

All applications will be subjected to a commercial viability assessment, due diligence, document verification process and budget availability. No late applications and incomplete applications will be considered.
