Thembakazi recently joined us as the Executive Manager of Infrastructure and Planning Services. With more than 10 years engineering experience, she’s passionate about creating strong, sustainable infrastructure that benefits our communities.
Her background includes roles such as Senior Civil Engineer and Port Engineer with Transnet National Ports Authority, and Chief Engineer at the Municipal Infrastructure Support Agency (MISA), where she led large teams and delivered practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
Thembakazi holds master’s degrees in Structural Engineering and Port Development, bringing critical expertise in coastal and port projects.
She’s also dedicated to mentoring young engineers and loves inspiring the next generation. As a council member at Walter Sisulu University, she actively supports programs that encourage engineering careers.
In her new role here, Thembakazi is excited to drive innovation, build collaborative teams, and focus on sustainable practices that help our communities thrive.
